Kenny, you should check out Mongaup Pond. It’s in the catskills and I love it! I’ve never been to Fish Creek/Rollins Pond so I’m not sure what you’re looking for. But Mongaup has canoe, kayak rentals, small beach, trails, and our sites have been fairly secluded. It’s by Livingston Manor… and in the middle of nowhere ha.

Ken, you should try some of the campgrounds in the Catskills. I’ve never camped there, so don’t have a recommendation.

Hi,
I’ve been to Fish Creek/Rollins Pond Campgrounds and thought they were absolutely spectacular. But now I live close to NYC and don’t want to venture almost 7 hours to get there. Can anyone recommend campgrounds similar to Fish Creek at a max of 3 hour drive from NYC??

The best I think, in my opinion is the Fish Creek/Rollins Pond Public Campgrounds located north of Tupper Lake or west of Saranac Lake in the St. Regis area. They are unique and beautiful. I can use many adjectives to describe them, but you need to experience them to see exactly what I mean! Enough said!

buck pond. what can you guys tell me about the fishing here???????? i am making plans for the summer camping trip , i prefer sites that arent on top of one another also love to fish out of my kayak, so being sheltered from the wind is good. another big factor is it a pond that holds fish to keep a 9 year old entertained???? they dont have to be huge but the ability to keep a child entertained is a big help.
