Lake Placid Sinfonietta to Perform at the Wild Center

Wild Center LogoTUPPER LAKE, NY – The Wild Center is proud to present “Music in the Mountains” on Thursday, July 28th at 7:30pm as the Lake Placid Sinfonietta performs in the Center’s Big Wolf Great Hall. This is the tenth year the Lake Placid Sinfonietta will travel to Tupper Lake to share their wonderful music.

The Lake Placid Sinfonietta will perform works including excerpts from Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Gabriel’s Oboe from the Mission by Morricone with oboe soloist Caroline Park, Strauss’s Tale from the Vienna Woods, Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and selections from the Sound of Music by Rodgers and Hammerstein. (Program subject to change.)

Lake Placid SinfoniettaBegin the evening with a pre-concert, “summer picnic” buffet in The Wild Center’s Esplanade Tent on Greenleaf Pond. Baked and barbeque chicken will be served with roasted potatoes, a seasonal vegetable, green salad, rolls and a touch of chocolate for dessert. Iced Tea will be served. The cost of dinner, $21.60 per person, is in addition to the concert fee. Reservations for the dinner are required by July 21st.

“This is one of my favorite events of the year. The beautiful setting of the Big Wolf Great Hall overlooking Greenleaf Pond and the superb acoustics of the space make this concert truly special,” says Executive Director, Stephanie Ratcliffe. “It’s an honor to bring this event to our community.”

Members may purchase tickets for $17. Children 14 and under are free. Refreshments will be served during intermission.
