Suspicious of Google Search results? Here’s a great list of alternatives to the teetering behemoth known as Google. I’ve had some good results with Gada.be and Keotag.com – they’re not perfect, but it sure feels good to have an alternative.

The Perfect Storm

I can’t put in words how amazed I am every morning to not hear that the lawsuit against Maine blogger Lance Dutson has been dropped. The WKP Advertising and the State of Maine by association are playing a game of chicken they cannot possibly win. At this point, WKP might as well quit and change their name forever. The search results to this story will haunt them forever and there is no amount of money that will change that.

Adirondack Hiking Guide Breaks into Top 100

Squidoo LogoMaybe I’m on to something. The Adirondack Hiking Guide was at #101 yesterday. This morning it is now #83! This is with practically no SEO other than a few inbound links. Heck it hasn’t even been rated by anyone. Cool. I wonder what would happen if someone actually gave it a rating? Of my several lenses, I have to say that next to Birding, this one has been something I have put a modicum of effort into creating. The Squidoo Lens is not a revolutionary idea, it’s more like a collection of good ideas rolled into one web service.
