I tend to be a bit secretive about the really awesome places around these parts.  There’s a very cool place with some of the best cross-country skiing in Clinton County I’d like to share.  It’s open to the public, free and “wild”, and just received some kick-ass snow.

Starting at 7PM at 236 Plumadore Rd – Saranac NY.
There will be holiday cookies, cocoa and tea.
Bring anything else you want.

Daylight Guided Tours of the trails
11am and 1PM

I’ll be heading up for an early session, bring your ski and snowshoes for some fresh tracks!  Check out the trails:

Planning for a Better Future in the Adirondacks

Did you know that Hamilton County in the Adirondacks has the lowest population density out of any county in New York? Well, it’s true – 1/km² (3/mi²). I also think it may be the only county in New York that does not feature a stoplight. Interesting, right? Add the fact that most of the land is owned by the state and is “forever wild”. One would rightly assume that economic development has been and will always be a challenge there.
