You never know in Spring, could be nice, could be rain, could be snow, could be mud. Since end of April is not too far away, I’m going to say, there may be all of the above!

Climbed Mount Marcy April 27th, 2014. 25 km round trip, freezing at the top with wind and snow, -25 C, mud and ice, and winter! Bring the crampons, didn’t need the snowshoes but stay on the path! 7.5 hours return

Hiking high peak area for a couple days – algonquin peak, colden etc next week. Website says its muddy.. any idea how bad it is this time of year? Is snow on the trail or on the side? I don’t have snowshoes or gaiters. Please advise.
