Adirondack Airpark EstatesDork that I may be, I admit to flying many a bush-plane on Flight Simulator; I discovered one of my favorite local landing spots is up for sale.  There’s a craigslist ad which seems to confirm this.

Dude!  I totally want this place.  It might sound quite “Adirondack” at first, but read on for a really mind-blowing treat:

I can’t believe this thing is in Saranac, and that the thing goes down so far into the ground. You go down six feet in our area and you’re swimming.

Talk about being prepared for anything – Go ahead – bomb me! I wonder how the lack-of-sunlight thing would work out. It really doesn’t look oppressive at all, in the pics.

I’ve had incredible results with a solar light tube. Probably if you are willing to give up the bomb-proofness, they would work great for this.

For some reason, this totally reminds me of the lab in the Andromeda Strain. But then, you emerge and you’re on Standish Rd!

This place has been for sale forever, i think it was 2.1 since around 2002… the “runway” was the access road that I believe they extended and improved in the last few years. I also remember hearing they bought the place for very little in the late 90’s. Be fun to have but it’s really in nowhere-ville.
