The Face of a Killer

Having heard more details about the murder of North Country local Darcy Manor, I am both shocked and sickened. Much has yet to be reported. Right now there is an incredible sense of relief here which is being mirrored in Halifax. Picture after the jump.

Adirondack Deer are the Most Hardcore

Adirondack White TailThe dangers of living in the Adirondacks are hard to appreciate. I can tell you first-hand that the Adirondack Buck is not to be trifled with. My experience came two years ago while traveling about 70mph on the Northway. A scary incident for me, traumatic for the deer. This weekend there was another tragedy. I know, you’re thinking, “whatever, another hunting accident…”.

Mountain Goat Climbs – Jailbreak

NY 374It’s true, we did ride near a jail and yes, there was a break. Unfortunately the break occurred between myself and the rest of the 5-man group for the last official Mountain Goat Climb.

Living in the Last Great Wilderness of the Northeast and in an area called the Adirondack Mountains, you’d think we could come up with some killer hill climbs. Oh how we wish that were true. We’ve got plenty of short and even sharp climbs, but long and sustained grinds are hard to find. Thanks to Adam (AKA the Wrench) for herding the goats and introducing us all to some fun riding in Clinton County. Our final climb might be the jewel of the area – Dannemora Mt. via the Nashville-Hugh Hearn Rd.
