So, Hamlet 3 is out. I’m all for beating the horror of urban sprawl.

Balances Economic Development and Preservation
Improves Quality of Life in Hamlets
Empowers Communities to Plan for Future Expansion

Check out the fieldwork done on Elizabethtown, Old Forge, and Star Lake. I’m liking almost everything, except the recommendation to keep the train. That kind of ruins it a little for me.

What do you think about the expansion model? Is it realistic? Does it fit your vision for growth in the Adirondacks? Do we need more models and studies?

DEC to Close Forest Roads

Forest Preserve - State Land Too lazy and slightly shocked to copy, paste and spiff-up the press release. Brian already posted most of the details over at The In Box.

Funny thing, I’m not sure this is really a bad thing. No motorized access to the Moose River Plains? Doesn’t really bum me out too much.
