Tupper Lake Lumberjack Meets Nemesis

March 30th, 2007 · No Comments · Adirondack Life, News

FIRE – We should form a line to pound whoever did this. Or is it simply misguided youth?

The lumberjack statue in the Tupper Lake Municipal Park was set on fire early this morning, according to the Tupper Lake Volunteer Fire Department.

The fire department responded at 4:34 a.m. today to the park with one truck.

The fire left a sizeable hole in the statue where the legs meet the concrete, the handle of the saw is burned off, and on the left leg, 6 to 8 inches of wood is missing, village Police Chief Tom Fee said this morning.

“I am going to actively and vehemently investigate the situation,” Fee said. “It’s an insult to everybody in the community.”
